• Brian Cosgrove subconsciously based the designs of Penfold on his own brother. Dennis Cosgrove was working as Deputy Editor of the Sunday Express in Manchester at the time and all those who knew him saw the similarity.

• A stylish and sophisticated character, Dangermouse is very much the James Bond of the mouse world, and his adventures were as popular with adults as they were with children.

• The theme music for Danger Mouse was composed by Mike Harding.

• The name Danger Mouse first appeared in the pages of Fleetway's Cor!! comic in 1972.

• The title and character Dangermouse were inspired by the action series Dangerman.
