Narrator: "In the worlds before Monkey, Primal Chaos reigned. Heaven sought order. But the Phoenix can fly only when its feathers are grown. The four world's formed again and yet again, as endless aeons wheeled and passed. Time and the pure essences of heaven, the moisture of the Earth, the powers of the sun and the moon worked upon a certain rock, old as creation. And it became magically fertile. That first egg was named 'Thought'. Tathagata Buddha, the Father Buddha, said 'With our thoughts we make the world'. Elemental forces caused the egg to hatch. From it then came a stone monkey. The nature of Monkey was irrepressible."
Monkey: "Hey Buddah!"
[after finding out that Buddha was female]
Monkey: "I always thought Buddha was a fella!"
Monkey: "Oooh, Demons!"
Monkey: "I don't like it..."
Monkey: "You're not a God, you're a birthday cake!"
Monkey: "I love a good fight!"
[demonstrating the staff's ability to grow from matchstick size to the size of a telegraph pole]
Monkey: "I can use it as well!"
Monkey: "Oh, let me just bash him once!"
Tripitaka: "I forbid it."
Tripitaka: "Remember - no violence Monkey!"
Tripitaka: "Buddha says..."
Pigsy: "Look! A woman!"
Pigsy: "Give Pigsy a kiss."
Sandy: "Oh do shut up!"
Yu-Lung: "What about me?"
