Red Max has a car (The Crimson Haybailer) based on a World War I bi-plane - no doubt inspired by real life German air ace, the infamous Red Baron.
The Mean Machine used vicious spikes protruding from it's wheels that can rip through steel - this trick was employed by Roman chariot racers as a way of immobilising their opponents.
Penelope Pitstop went on to star in her own series "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop" (1969), also starring the Ant Hill Mob - who traded their Bullet Proof Bomb for Chugga-boom.

Hanna-Barbera produced the animated version of "The Addams Family" (1973) - although no direct comparison can be made to the Gruesome Twosome driving the Creepy Coupe!
